70-200mm F2.8L II are there problems

I have been thinking for some time about buying a 70-200mm F2.8L II. But it seems like in this forum there is a post every few weeks from someone that says they do not think their new copy of this lens is performing as it should.


No doubt there are alot of people that bought this lens and have a very good copy. Some of the people that thought they were having problems, really were not, they were just not used to seeing the narrow DOF you can get at F2.8.


Is there a quality control problem with this lens?


Thats one reason I have held off because I do not have the time right now to throughly check a new lens out and make sure it is a good copy.

You should spend some time and check it out thoroughly. 99% of the time it is user error or people pixel peep at 100% crop at 1 foot away from the monitor.
