New gear!!!
Hi guys,
I finally recieved (well 90% of it) my strobist gear tonight after a very long 3 weeks.
I already owned a 580 exII and420 EX flashes so most of what I bought was based around hotshoe flashes rather than studio strobes.
So today I recieved:
Yongnuo RF602 trigger and 2x receivers (can double as a wireless shutter release)
Speedlight Prokit (look them up they're pretty amazing as a mobile strobist solution) which includes 2 x softboxes (1 with a diffuser and the other with a large grid), 1x snoot with medium grid, 1x snoot with small grid.
2 x light stands (2.8m and 1.8m)
Rosco gels strobist kit
I have a 38" white shoot through umbrella and a couple of umbrella holders/ coldshoe mounts to come.
I'm looking for a large softbox to use with a speedlight so if anybody has any recommendations I'd love to hear them.
So anyway here's the result of my first attempt with an off camera flash setup. I'vegot a fairly serious collection of guitars and have never photographed any of them so I figured a couple of them would be a nice subject.
The first two are of my Dean USA Evo (my baby)

This one's my Cole Clark Fat Lady II acoustic. Solid body bunya pine, crystal pickup on the bridge and mic in the body. Amazing sound - I loooooove this guitar.

I'd love some C & C on these and I'll certainly be posting up some fresh shots in the nearfuture.
I mentioned a while back that I'd do a bit of a review on the Yongnuo triggers so I'll do some testing and post something up - so far I haven't had any misfires but haven't tested out their range.
Cheers, Ben.

Re: New gear!!!
By the way--I'd suggest using one of those strobes to light up the background (I think you need some background separation)...the other gridded or bare on the guitar.
