    Home Studio Wall Color Selection

    Good Evening Canoneers,

I'm ready to paint our home portrait studio and was wondering if it truly needs to be black or dark gray? I'm planning to use the "Muslin Mover" which is a track in the ceiling that the muslin clips to and slides. This will cover half the room in a "U" shape. With this covering the walls....I suspect that I don't have to worry about the walls as much as I would the ceiling.

I was looking for some thoughts on this as it seems this site is the place for all knowledge.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

Anything neutral is good. Why are you thinking black? I

Black might make it easier to control reflections -- that can be important if you end up doing some product photography.

This is what Joe Zeltsman said in his book "The Zeltsman Approach to Formal Classic Portraiture"

Thanx so much. I almost forgot this post. I ended up painting it gray.

    Thanx again...
