Not Quite Sure What I Think of This... Need Some Critiques.

This seemed like "just another photo" from a recent trip in Montreal, until I converted it to black and white and cropped it slightly from the bottom. I sort of think it emphasizes the size of these trees relative to the people walking through them. I think it's a bit dramatic, and I like the way the trees form a frame for the people walking.



Let me know what you think, and reassure me if you think this deserves a spot in the "selects' folder. []

It's a fairly nice "Content protected by owner", in case you were wondering about that. I would have framed it slightly differently and stopped down a bit, but other than that...

the text seems a little out of focus, but maybe that is just the low contrast. The lock could use some higher contrast too.

I seem to be seeing some slight vignetting...could be my monitor I guess.

I, too, think the photo would have benefited from a little more foreground...as well as having the human subjects off to one side a bit. As shot, the subjects get lost among the masses of bare branches.
