    more shots of warbirds from last weekend, again, all shot with my XSi and 100-400L lens. first up is a fairey firefly, i beleive there are only 3 of these airworthy in the world.

    shot at 235mm, 1/250s, f/8, iso200

    P-40K kittyhawk shot at 100mm, 1/160s, f/8, iso200

    lancaster bomber, this time from below as he flew over me, shot at 250mm, 1/250s, f5.6 and iso400

    Oh stop it---you have to give some of us a chance to get off work, deal with the family, and scratch the dog before we plop our plump A....s in front of the computer.

    Now---I love the shots, Number two is especially appealing to me.

    Nice work

    Me too. I tried to shoot Marine 1 on the weekend and had to crop a giant 5000x3000 200mm shot to about 2000 just to get it in full frame...

    thanks guys..............and appologies if my comment seemed out of place......its just nice to get comments after taking the time to upload and post, not to mention the time that one takes to actualy shoot something for a couple hours.......and when one has pictures posted, and everytime i looked, my post was being pushed further and further down the list of posts......i was getting dejected

    once again thanks for the kind words........and i love my 100-400 lens, its been on my camera 90% of the time since i got it off of kijiji over a month ago

    I think all your shots are fantastic, Jim. I have a airshow coming my way I think next month so I'm learning from what you have going here! I hope I can make ours and bring my 100-400mm as well!

    I just realized that the airshow ticket price includes admission to the ex as well. Depending on the entrance price of the x by itself it may be worth it... I'll have to look into this. But I'm very interested in going to the Brantford Airshow that you mentioned Jim

    Jim...mea culpa for not putting in a comment concerning your warbird pix earlier. I really like the first 2 and your last one, though, I'm not sure you were lucky for being in place for the last photo. But you were lucky not to be hit by FOD.

    After spending 28 years in the airline business I would have been moving quickly out of the "wash zone"....w/out a pic.

    Here's a link (prices) to the air show I'll be attending in August at Pease Interna'l. Airport;

    Sorry, I waited too long to buy a private chalet so my 100closest TDP friends could join me at the airshow. []
