Very interesting wasp. I have never seen one in my neck of the woods. Where are you located, is it a solitary wasp or a social wasp?

This wasp is not that rarely seen in Switzerland. I find it in residential areas, it`s prefering sunny, warm places. As far as I know, its a solitary species.

    Iguide-

Search the net for "Hedychrum nobile" instead.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, a very worth while one. I really appreciate an earnest attempt to help find the information I was inquiring about. Not having grown up with computers but rather with libraries and reference books I tend to forget that most likely any information I could be seeking is on the net. Thanks Again.

if you look at the OP's profile you can see that he is from
Switzerland. So I assume, and I may very well be wrong, that the shot
was probably taken in Switzerland or nearby.

I really appreciate you taking the time to find that information out. I never thought of that and it is the most simple way of answering my own question. Thank you very much for your time and effort. If I can ever be of any assistance to you in answering any questions in my field please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank You for taking the time to post that information in response to my questions. It was a nice capture.

May we all take the time to let our Lord touch our daily living with his grace and may we all have the kindness to share that with the others we encounter in our daily journeys.

I'd love to see one (or two or three)of these flying around my yard! Getting a picture of it might be worth the risk of getting stung!
