    small rodent



    took this shot of a small rodent, a chipmunk, in my backyard in the early evening a week or so ago. let me know what you think. shot was taken with my XSi, 100-400 lens @ 400mm focal length,f/8, 1/400sec, iso 200

    hi denise.....thanks. i handheld.....i usually dont use a tripod, which does make for some blown shots since i like to take most shots in the early evening when the sun isnt so strong. in this instance, i did brace myself against a tree to steady myself.

    IS on that lens is nice. I handhold it a lot, but use a monopod for sports (soccer) with the IS turned off.

    Nice shot! If anything, it looks maybe 1/2 stop overexposed, since you've lost some of the detail in the white fur. But overall a great image!
