The 180mm is an awesome lens. Ever since the 100mm F2.8L IS Macro was released it seems like B&H always has used copies. If you could find one that is a 10 you might get a good deal.
An excerpt purportedly from Canon to dealers, along with the % increases and new price estimates for affected lenses/flashes, can be found HERE.
This is good news for the used market, bad news for the new market.
I wonder if the 16% for the 800mm jump is an indication of the prices we can expect to see with the new 500mm F4 and 600mm. I would think Canon would want the 800mm to still be the most expensive lens. So they had to raise it a larger percentage to allow for the pricing of the new Tele
OUCH!!

No word on camera prices going up I hope!

about the new lenses, I think the 600mm probably will be a lit more than $110000,because 600mm should be a little more expensive than the 400mm 2.8 and not sure it will be more than the new price of the 800mm, but I bet it will.
prices has jumped up already!
e.g., B&H and Adorama have raised the price of 500mm 4.0 IS from $6140 to $6399( that's why I don't like them[]), Amazon and J&R still have the old price but are out of stock. only one store on ebay still selling it for $6129(by the time I'm writing this).
so it is true!
If there was any more doubt that lenses are better investments than camera bodies...
Every single lens I own, all bought over the last three years, now sells for more than what I bought it for. And I don
