It reminds me of a google+ hangout I was watching. There was a street photographer on there who made the point that even if you street photos don't hold a lot of weight right now, 20+ years down the road it very well could. I LOVE that her photos tell a very good story about New York around that time.
Thanks for sharing Rocco, very nice indeed.
To be fair, it's not just the age of the photos. The way light is used and more important how she composed and framed the shots are very very good. I bet photos that you and I take are going to get back some old memories in a year or 20 and that's nice. However I'm pretty sure my photos will not have this impact, they're just too simple for that.
And the fun thing about her pictures is that no one will criticize her for lack of sharpness or anything. The photos look so thought out that no one will pay attention to those technical details. I like that.
Yep, gritty, grainy glimpses of life. A real treasure chest.

I think that her work may end up going the same way as Disfarmer, hyped up so that people will pay thousands for originals. That way a few people will make a lot of money.
But people tell me I'm cynical.

Yea, some might be getting some hype for a few $$. I am glad to get to see the images I have. There is indeed something about a B&W that just speaks differently than color exposures.
It also reminds me that art is all around us all the time if we just take that 1/125th of second to notice it.
