2017 Image of the Week #24

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly and finally in an annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

    • This entry period for Week 24 will be from Monday June 5th through/including Sunday June 11th.
    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
    • Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
    • Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by ddt0725.
    Good luck!!

Had so wonderful time this night driving around looking for some nice moonlight and fog sight. Here is one from my favorite spot.

I've never used my iPhone to enter in the weekly contests, but I've been traveling for work so much lately, I didn't have anything else on me. I typically don't take any cameras with me on business trips. I'm not so happy with the results once I saw it on the PC, which just confirms that you can't substitute an iPhone for a DSLR of any sensor size. I was impressed with what it could do though, and if I were only sharing on social media, I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

I am playing around with different travel cameras. For something like Venice, I did take my 5DIII set up. For smaller trips, I have wanted something smaller. I have the M3 with a number of different lenses. This is smaller, but still takes up a reasonable about of room. More and more, I am taking the Canon G7X II with me on trips. It actually puts out pretty solid images. ISO performance is pretty solid and it fits right in my computer bag.
