external harddrive question

hey guys,


So I just bought a usb powered external harddrive and I was wondering if there would be a way that I could dump my photos all onto the harddrive directly from my camera (I have an XTi and a 250 WD passport hard drive). I doubt I'll ever actaully need it (I've got 12gb of cf cards) but it'd be nice to know I have the option is something crazy is going on somewhere.

I don't think so. You would probably need to have a 40D/50D or higher with the proper wireless file transmitter, as it has a USB port. Also, the hard drive would probably have to be plugged into an external power source or an electrical outlet.

Don't think so, but they do make dedicated units for that purpose that will accept a flash card.
