100 mm Macro L IS USM

This is a awful lens for the money....the non-IS version is so much crisper.

Maybe you have a lemon. I was just trying one out today at a photo trade show, and was quite impressed by it. Didn't get much opportunity to test out the new hybrid IS, so can't comment on that.

You are absolutely right....even my camera shop person said...."it's a lemon"....we even tried it on a tripod and the pictures are not sharp at all. I ended up getting a 300 mm f4.0 L IS USM....goodness gracious...this lens is so sharp.

Canon is very good and fairly quick at repairing or replacing your "lemon"

I gave the lens back and got the 300 mm f4 L IS USM instead.
