Rocco - I agree with the previous speakers, great portraits! No. 2 is my favorite but all four are good. After reading Steves comment I had to go back and look for earrings. How could I avoid noticing them?

Thanks guys! The earrings were hand carved and very ornate, loved them. I'm completely hooked on back lit portraits now, and will forever look for a good opportunity when out shooting.

Had another session today (super busy month for me!). This little boy, to the dismay of his mother, climbed a tree and refused to come down. So of course I climbed a neighboring tree and started playing with him. She was madder than hell, until I let her look at the back of my camera. I think she had more of a traditional portrait in mind, but this of course is more interesting. As she said, they exactly represent who he is.

Great and wonderful photos since I've last visited this community. Been out of the loop from photography lately and here's my latest from over the weekend.

I just loved the ambient light as back light and a reflector as main light.

    Thanks for viewing.
    Cheers!

Thank you Mark. I love the photo of your kids. Did you do that in a studio? What did you use for the black background?
    Cheers!

Thanks AnGelo. They were all done in the studio. The background in the last one was justseemless black paper. They were really close to it and it was super dirty so it kind ofhas agray-mottled effect which I was quite happy with. I do think it's time to cut off the bottom and start fresh though. I almost exclusively work with children and they are hard on my paper backgrounds :-)
