Did a family session this morning. First real shoot with my 5D III. Worked well.

    Great set Dave!

@Rocco, I really like your second shot. It's just looks so fresh and crisp? Sorry cannot think of a better word for it, but I like it

Great series Dave, really like the 2 B&W's.
@Mark, professional set Mark, I really like 2 and 4, exposure, beautiful relaxed model, great work.

SteveU, great model and lighting for the setting. I'm sure you had a good time there, I've yet to attend a Comic type convention... there's always on the west coast and I live on the east.

I'm not sure if these qualify as portraits in the traditional sense, but I like to think that these capture these people in their natural, having fun state.

    What do you think?

The original photo and print show great detail on his beard and water

Great expressions and excellent captures James, the bottom two are definitely portraits.

Nice! Old people make for the best B&W conversions. Well done.

As for the shoe - I think it's a great detail that the mother will look back on and laugh.
Bah! I sorry so slow at replying.

This was the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 on my 7D - @f/2.8, 1/200 sec., ISO 400, 33mm with my Tiffen HT CPL. Was using a disc reflector as well, but I don't think I did for this shot. He started to crawl around so I was rolling around all commando style.

Yeah! I was going for that spring look. It was the first really nice day we had here.
