Hi,

I already had a table tripod and another one (450$) when I decided to buy a Canon monopod (50$), since it's the only cheap thing you can seem to buy :-]

I brought it with me during my trip to Malaysia and Dubai and I have to admit I'm puzzled: I don't still understand what are its advantages. Perhaps I miss how to use it properly, but al I needed what to add stability during the low light conditions, since the IS doesn't help you much below 1/20 or 1/15.

Should I learn how to place it etc... or is it just something good for fast pictures, where an extra stabilization at above 1/200 can be useful when extra zooming or so?
