I worked a high school x-country race over the weekend. Well over 700 runners from 250 schools from several states came to compete in 26 races. My position for 9 hours was the finish line. There were 3 photographers total. I don't know how many photos the others took but I know my count was over 5,500. The action was fast and furious as the runners came down the shoot and jockeyed for position. I could not appreciate the facial expressions and body stress until I began to look over the photos.
