I know Canon typically doesn't make zoom less than f/2.8, and that cost, weight, and size can be factors in larger aperture zooms, but since it's an EF-S lens, it's already smaller and lighter and cheaper. Making it f/2 would just bring the size, weight and cost back up to non EF-S levels... or am I missing something (aside from typical people not wanting to pay for premium EF-S lenses).
