Eric, sounds like a great opportunity to get some landscape photography rolled into your trip. I'm in agreement with most here and agree with V of Fire. I would leave in the afternoon to scout out shots the first day, and pick and choose for sunset. A famous spot is called the Fire Wave. If the clouds are minimal and there won't be epic sunsets, you could concentrate on abstracts or close ups. If you do go in the morning, there is a great little place called the Fire Cave, aka Meunch's Cave that makes for a unique landscape. Gotta get there by mid morning as sun fills up the little cave and will "blow out" the sandstone (will be overexposed).
