I have always been sensitive to flash hot shoe fragility, and especially now that I have so much tied up in speed lights.
Realize that almost all of the time (except weddings) I use off camera flash.

What I would like to find is a hot shoe cap, probably with with a screw in base that will serve as the mounting base and not leave the contacts exposed 24/7.

I have a wide variety of mounting devices from stands to gorilla pods.

The constant exposed hot shoe worries me from a longevity stand point.

Suggestions?
