2020 -Best or Favorite Images

While I do love this annual thread too, it's always difficult to post in it when you have to come after the amazing contributions you guys put up every year.

It was definitely a special year for me too, as my wife gave birth to our first son. So it comes as no surprise that my photographic opportunities have been rather scarce and most of my favorite pictures of the year are family ones which I don't share on the internet.
Still, there are a few worth posting here I think. Surprisingly, I took far more pictures in 2020 than in 2019 or 2018, despite staying in a 30 kilometers radius during the whole year.

In April, we couldn't do much more than walk around our house, so my main subjects were flowers. I took a few pictures that I liked.

In May, I spent two evenings in the mountains around my home to take a few pictures at sunset. Here are some of them.

After May, I only took pictures when walking with my family. Most of the time, I had a few seconds to take them.

Every year, this is the thread I look forward to the most. This community has some of the best photography I see and just want to say excellent work everyone! I didn't take a ton of photos this year and looking back, I really wish I would have left the house more often. Last couple times I went out I was the only one for miles which was excellent. I participated in editing challenges on the gram mostly to keep myself entertained when I was reaching the point of extreme boredom. I did try a bird project this year and reworked some of the landscaping in my yard due to a little extra time on my hands. Funny when the kids aren't doing every sport under the sun how much free time you have.















I also made my birthday trip to shoot hummingbirds. Bummer the ranger had changed things up and it was tough to get in a good spot.

I think this is my favorite bird shot. Fun detail, the background is not the sky, but the deep blue water of Crater Lake.
