    It must be wonderful to have access to so many great bird species. Here in ireland, rather a lot of our birds are a bit unexciting, like this fellow below[]

    That's a great picture actually thanks to the great bokeh. Which lens did you use? Which focal length and which f number?

    Taken with a 75-300 non IS at 300mm, f5.6, 1/25 (resting on my girlfriends shoulder - she doesn't object too much to being used as a bipod). ISO 100. I had just ringed the bird, you can see the ring on the right leg. He perched in the tree to smooth down his feathers and I grabbed the shot. Shot taken April 2008. Caught him again in the same place this April!
