I have only seen Indigo Buntings at my feeder a few times, always in May. They are always fleeting encounters. So I am happy to have got reasonable light on this one a few days ago:

The behavior would indicate that they are migrating, but looking at some migration maps, it seems a small population lives in New England throughout the summer. Most seem to summer in the Arkansas-TN-KS area, or so it seems.

It would be great if they stuck around longer.

I still have never seen one in person. Always see people posting about them in the area, but never where I happen to be. :-). Great catch!
