My dad once said to me that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. What he didn’t tell me is how to find out what someone is willing to pay for it.

You hit the nail in the head with this line. The problem is that us photographers are usually left brain challenged. We think our photos are our kids who are universally beautiful. So we talk about feeding kids and talent and forget to ask our clients what do they think our work is worth.
