Thanks for the complement.

Its all lens (70-200 2.8L). Both at F2.8, first at 200mm, second at 155mm. The lens just makes it so easy to get nice pics!!!

This place has mesh as well but the difference is you get to go right up to it. Telephoto lens against the mesh with wide aperture = mesh disappear

    Here's a few I took with a canon 40D and 70-200mm 2.8L (seems like a popular combo)

That is the most personality I've seen in a giraffe picture, ever!

Looks like this thread is still going....

This peacock did not trust me. Captured at the Lipetsk Zoo in Russia (he is not use to seeing anything but point and shoot cameras I guess).(Canon 1000d, 28-135mm)

Again, got this while at the Lipetsk Zoo....the Russian says, "Be careful, this animal is dangerous!" It is the cage for red squirrels

Young girl was enjoying a day at the Lipetsk Zoo, drawing these birds....she never knew I got this shot from behind her.(Canon 1000d, 28-135mm)

Eyes half closed Syracuse Zoo in upstate NY.(Canon 1000d, 70-200mm F4)

My favorite shot at the Syracuse Zoo in upstate NY. He was building a home near the elephant display...but since he is not part of the Zoo, he enjoys his freedom to come and go. (Canon 1000d, 70-200mm F4)

I got my new 70-200 2.8 IS for my 50D just in time for a family trip to the Buffalo Zoo. I got a lot of great pictures. I chose four for this forum. The ram above is probably my favorite of the day. He currently stares at me from my computer desktop. I love that lens! I would appricate any critique and advise. I am looking to submit some photos for the zoo contest this fall. I just got back into shooting last fall and moved from film to digital. I forgot the rush of getting a great shot!

    Thanks.

    Chris
