    Slik 780DX tripod

    Hi,

Has anybody ever used a slik 780DX tripod??

    Feedback please.

Am currently looking to buy a tripod and at my current $200 or so budget this seems to be e good deal. I really dont mind using 3 way pan head. Ball heads would be nice but are a little out of reach for me price wise.

Will use it to hold gripped XTi, 430ex flash and my biggest lens this far is a 70-200 2.8IS.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

    thanks in advance

I don't have this one but the older model 770DX Pro and use it with a cheaper Manfrotto ballhead. I shot a 50D with the same flash and a 300 F\4 without any problems so you shouldn't have any problem with your setup. I got mine for 2 reasons, price and the fact I am 6' 1" with a bad back so the height works really good for me.

I have Slik's U212, which I bought used on ebay. It works well with an XTi and Sigma 150mm macro, so I imagine that tripod will suit you well.

    I have one.... Legs only.

I'm using my old Giotto Head until I can afford a RRS BH-55 Ballhead.

The AMT legs are tall and solid as a rock!

    I use a 5DMKII/gripped with a 100-400 L and it doesn't budge.

Legs extend quickly and smoothly. They dont twist within each other because of a groove running the length of each section.

I like it so much, I feel like I kinda stole it for what it cost. []

    I'd buy it again.
