That photo definitely has some clipped highlights.


The only possible issue that I can think of is that one of your lenses has a significant aperture activation variance. It could also combine with a 1/3 stop difference in lens transmissivity (vs. the kit lens, for example).


However, the most likely explanation is that your lens has a PEBCAP error. To diagnose this type of error, take two identical photos: one with the 24-105 and one with your other lens.
  • Same tripod position
  • Same lighting (i.e. no clouds moving around, etc.)
  • Same focal length
  • Same f-number
  • Same exposure duration
  • Same ISO
  • Same picture profile
  • Automatic Lighting optimizer disabled
  • Automatic Vignetting correction disabled.
