    Lens and Sensor Cleaning

    All,

This is undoubtedly an often-asked question, but I wanted some input before I go screwing around with my cameras sensor and the lenses I have.

I was planning on purchasing Rocket Blower kit, a Visible Dust Sensor brush, and possibly some of that Eclipse cleaning solution. I don't know if the original or the E2 version would be better for my sensor, if/when needed.

I don't have any problems right now, but I also don't have any cleaning equipment/experience. So I want to be prepared in case the need arises.

Does anyone have any input as to more or different cleaning supplies to have on hand? Also, if anyone has any useful advise for a newbie that will one day clean a sensor I am open to any input.

    BTW, I have a 50D with a 17-55 f2.8 and 70-200 f4L.

    Thanks,

    Braden

    Re: Lens and Sensor Cleaning

    Braden,

I don't have any experience with cleaning sensors other than using my rocket blower. And it works perfectly for me. Now I have a new camera and it's still winter, so no heavy dust around here, so I did not have any dust-issues whatsoever yet.

The rocket blower is also very handy to blow off dust and fibers from your lenses and camera. I use it constantly to clean my lenses and filters.

But somebody else got to help you with the real sensor cleaning part [:P]

    Good luck, Jan
