    using my new Canon 580ex II speedlight and my 430ex along with my Xti canon camera



    I am trying to use the new 580ex II with my 430ex as a slave but the 430 ex flashes after the 580. Is this normal? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me

    Is the 580 set to flash, or trigger only? In other words, is the 580 set to contribute light to the shot, or just be a signaling device?


    Is the 430 firing so late that it's not contributing to the shot?
    We're a Canon/Profoto family: five cameras, sixteen lenses, fifteen Profoto lights, too many modifiers.

    Thanks for answering but I feel kinda dumb..... It wasn't set to the same channel. It's amazing what happens when I actually read the manuel Sorry to waste your time! Thanks
