If portrait and wedding are you main use I have no doubts. 70-200 f2.8 II


In low light, and outside a studio setting is the best portrait lens you can buy. I just got mine, and I use it primarely on a 5DII. Amazing!!!


The upgrade from the version I is worth every cent in my opinion. The autofocus is a roket!!! As fast as the 300 f2.8.IS helps a lot in low light, a lot more than with version I. IMO is much better.


To gain 1 stop in at a wedding will make a big difference in your shot, and the flexibility of the zoom will pay off over a nice set of prime.
