Sean, ILOVE the bottom left! Is that where you underexpose the background and pop the people with lights? I suckat that stuff...not the underexposing part. I can do that like nobodies business..just not on purpose[]
Words get in the way of what I meant to say.

You mean the one of the bride and the groom? Or the one of Amber in the second post? I underexposed the ambient and used my White Lightning x2400 in both, however, with the bride & groom I used a 43" Paul C. Buff Parabolic Light Modifier (not sure if they even sell that size anymore) and with Amber I used a 47" octobox.

You've been a busy lad Sean!

Here's one I took yesterday, nothing amazing this week as I've been on night shift and have been in sleep mode most of the time.

    Nice action shot, Ben!

But, what's with all the black speckling? It's especially noticeable between Tilly (guessing on the name based on the image title) and the water. Is it some horrible swarm of gnats? With a 5DII and ISO 200, it can't be image noise, right?!? If it is, some investigation intoRAW conversation, etc.,seems warranted...

Could it be water droplets in shade? Tilly's back end is crossing a section of shade. The water droplets there wouldn't be illuminated like the ones toward Tilly's head (in full sun).

Hmmm I think there's a bit of truth in both of your analyses. There was some sort of plague of horrible fresh water dwelling insects (possible related to Sean's Aunt Edna)following both our dogs around so that may be some of it.

However, I think you'll find it's mud! Don't be fooled by those white feet - if there's mud around she'll find it, and Jack will be 3.4 steps behind.

I did a double check in DPP to check the RAW conversion and the result was very close to ACR. Good pickup though - certainly made me have a closer look after you mentioned it.

    Cheers, Ben.

That possibility crossed my mind, but the density is wrong. As you can see from the white ones, water droplets or mud droplets - anything being shaken off Tilly - would be most dense closest to Tilly, and become less dense as they spread out from the source. The black speckles are dense right out to the sides of the image.

    Bugs or noise, I guess.
