this is really a nice shot! the DOF, bokeh, sharpness, color, light ... everything look great, not too much "action" though overall it's a nice picture.especially I like the low angle, you must got dirty didn't you?!

First attempt at this technique. Not very satisfied with it, but will have to do more. I have the perfect location for this. Next one will be better I swear!
It may be a while until I get another attempt at this. I'll be leaving Thursday for a two and a half week trip to Oregon and Washington. Maybe I'll get a reduex! I shall see! Along with the shots of (hopefully) elk and some raptors (maybe some bear!?).
I seem to be attracted to hobbies that cost me a fortune [] As long as it makes me happy eh!

Would like to have had one more light to bring out some of the shadows but I kinda like the hard lighting.
Ben.

Three nights ago I took a picture of the swan nebula (also called the "omega nebula" or the "2 nebula" or M17) from my light-polluted back yard. I shot raw + jpeg. I was updating my operating system, so temporarily did not have acess to dpp. So my first attempt was generated from the jpeg:

I then got DPP reinstalled and made another picture by processing the raw:

AP130GT 819mm f/6.3 + 5DII 27min (autoguided)
Even though the second seems to show more, my wife says she likes the one from jpeg better, and I'm not sure I disagree.
