I've got one, and and find myself occasionally using it with with my Rebel XS(aka 1000D).


I find it easiest to use with a monopod and live view. This enables you to magnify the sweet spot, and insure accurate focus.


Also, with an APS-C sensor, I generally find myself keeping it wide open at F2.0, or maybe at 2.8. Otherwise, pretty much everything is in focus.


It is a fun lens, but it is can be slow to use. If you are doing still life stuff (products, art, architecture its is great). I've also tried to get a few candid shots of my baby niece with it, and she just did not stay in one place long enough for me to set up the shot in most cases. Still ended up with a few good pictures, but it generally required setting up the shot initially, and then waiting for her to move back into position.
