and if you type in 800 it will display it at 800px regardless of the files actual dimensions

But you'll still be downloading the large image. In the interests of bandwidth and download time, it's best to resize.

I love (hate) the one-upped-ness of this board.


I just made the comment to help someone trying to post say a 1024px image to quickly get it to 800px.


I thought it was kind of obvious to resize it but thanks!

Sorry, I was not trying to one-up you. I was just trying to quickly point out that it's not the best of habits. There are many non-tech savvy photographers, some of which might see this as a faster workflow. I'd rather correct those thoughts sooner than later.
