4th of July :: Washington DC
First time attempt at fireworks. I've shot from this part of the
District before & had anticipated this bridge (between the Jefferson
Memorial & FDR Memorial) would be lined with fellow photographers.
To my surprise, there were only 6 others that chose this location. Enjoy!

Really beautiful shot![Y] Definitely leaves me wanting more!
I wonder why there were so few of photographers at this particular area ...seems like the perfect spot!

It's a great spot but so many people line the edge of the Tidal basin & National mall. This was my first choice for a location but there are several other places that aren't so heavily crowded. I took approximately 75 shots & probably have about 5 keepers. Thanks again for your reply!

Certainly a top-notch shot. Honestly, I've bored of fireworks shots....but the added compositional element, the Washington Monument, makes this image superb.

Great shot Travis!
Despite the fact that I am Canadian, I have visited Washington DC and absolutely love it. I almost want to be there for 4th of July weekend someday just to see the celebrations... and now I know a good spot![]
