Here's a few of mine from the holiday weekend in CT.

Awesome! I once had a water-dragon and before that a lot of different smaller lizards, but non of them looked exotic like this little one! That tail is just brutal![img]/emoticons/emotion-14.gif[/img]

Ahaha hardly exotic Jan, these little buggers are bloody everywhere!!! A lot of people don't like them because they make a funny little clicking noise and poo on their window sills but I think they're fantastic (mostly because they eat all the bugs around the joint).


They're incredibly soft skinned and really delicate little geckos, that nasty looking tail is far from nasty. They're also able to change the lightness/ darkness of their skin depending on where they are sitting too- interesting little guys.

Ben, I love the first shot of your Gecko. Great lighting and composition. Those camouflaged eyes are pretty cool too.

Thanks Rich, I never realised their eyes were camouflaged as well asthe rest of their bodyuntil I took these shots. Bear in mind this guy was only about 10cm long so it's pretty close up and hard to see without that magnification.

shooting with bushes ~40ft in the background from 4' away so I got pretty good isolation. I really wish I could get more magnification and for that reason some extension tubes might be on the way.

Try out the Kenko extension tubes Brendan, they work well with my 70-200 and still allow you to autofocus. I generally manual focus when I'm using them though due to the incredibly narrow DOF. Be prepared to stop down DRASTICALLY.

Well I live in a concrete jungle and our wildlife is just a bit more tame than your australian wildlife [:P] I love those little creatures! I know those spikes are looking quite brutal, but there quite soft I know [H]





I must say that the photos here get better and better each week! Superb! Guess that could have something to do with summer...(at least for most of us I guess?? [:P])

Here's one I took of the George Washington Bridge and New York City Skyline on the 4th of July, as we made our way down the Hudson River in my friends cigarette boat to view the NYC Macy's Fireworks Display.


I was a little bit surprised to get such a clean shot of the bridge, because of the limited light and the fact that the boat was rocking somewhat. Well.., I guess that is a testament to the low light capabilities of the 7D. Handheld.

As we got closer to the fireworks and many more boats, the water became rougher, as the sky grew darker. If there ever was a need for an IS Version of the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L Lens below.., I guess this was the time.


This is the N.Y. City Skyline as the smoke from the fireworks lingers over it, as I'm rocking back and forth on a boat. Handheld.


Although unintentional I kind of liked the effect.
