Thanks! I used the 70-200mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x. I really didn't need the extender on at all for this shot and wish I would have had time to remove it. I was battling a lot of late afternoon sun & shade with as quickly as this thing moved about the bush! I had never seen one of these before either and when my daughter showed me a video she made of it in the yard the other day, we went online to figure out what the heck it was! I was hoping it would return for me to take a few shots!
Here is one to give you a better idea of the wing span (much larger than you would imagine)...

That hummingbird moth is amazing. Never knew they existed. Here's one more I should add:

I used the macro lens because it was already on the camera. I grabbed it and ran out in my bare feet to get this shot, before the bear was gone. Then we phoned fish & wildlife to report it.
