    I shot no less than 3 self-portraits this week while testing out different things. The following ended up my favorite (a test of the 20" parabolic reflector I recently acquired). Yes, I know it's distracting that you can see the reflector in my glasses...but I liked it anyway. :-)

    Garret, very nice shots! I know 85mm 1.8 can make really great quality pictures, but the Tamron 70-300mm? very very impressive.

    After stopping the Tamron down to f/8-11, and moderate to heavy post processing, then yes it can take some nice pictures. But seriously the lens is junk, the AF is super slow and creeps even in daylight, wide-open is almost neverusable, CA is visible even stopped down to f/11. I ran around manual focusing, chasing bugs and butterflies & I was lucky to get those two that nicely. But since I don't own a real macro it's what I have to work with.


    Pretty much the Tammy is only good for macro work.

    I shot this for a work competition having to do with sustainability and our future. This is mydaughterin my backyard garden.






    Canon T1i, 18-55mm IS @ 32mm, 1/80 sec, f/8, ISO 400.
