    Sheiky you are right. The 70-200 2.8 is £1699 here in the UK. That's only £100 more than the pre-order price of the 70-300.


    Whilst the 70-200 f4 ISI have seen is in a sale the full retail price only seems around £950. Still a lot cheaper than the new 70-300.


    I think I'm gonna go for the 70-200 f4 IS. It look like a great lens.

    Yup it seems like it's way overpriced...odd since I thought the release price would be around 1500 dollars....and that's not even close to the prices we see here in pounds and/or euros...


    Anyway it also helps to wait a few months before buying. Prices tend to be very unpredictable when sales start. For example the 100mmL's price went up first, then lowered and is currently a lot better priced than it was at it's release.


    Also lenses tend to be a lot more expensive during the summerperiod, if you want to buy cheap, buy when the weather outside isn't motivating for photography []
