I have tried f22 on my 7D, the IQ(sharpness) got effect a lot even though I downsized to 800Pix and resharpen it.

Did you use Tiff to down-rez? This is the way I do,down-rezin Tiff, save it in Tiff, then sharpen it in Tiff and thensave it in Jpeg. To sharpen a Jpeg will sharpen Jpeg artifacts also and will have less detail.


If you still don't get good results you might not be using the right un-sharpmask setting. And if you still can't get good results then your image was indeed EXTREMELY soft! Possibly because of motion blur.

No, John, I don't use Tiff, I use jpeg. and smart sharpen, that's all I do. I will give it(your way) a try next time. thank you!

I didn't sharpen the picture, although I almost always do. I kind of liked the soft, 1930's postcard look.
