First time adding photos to this new set-up so this is a test.! I added this photo to another thread but I've since touched up the background somewhat ...not sure if it's an improvement, I don't like the lines going across.

Denise, love the red tail. Great capture. I can never get close enough to one to get a proper picture, but you have a great one.

Sean, that is awesome lighting. Only wish I could do that half as good as you can.

John, nice luck with the birds being so close in distance from one another. I have to wait 3 months between sightings. Great captures.

Thanks, Jayson! I was pretty shocked with the results! Now if I could do that good 50% of the time, I'd be estatic!!

I like how the background is perfectly suited to the bird--there is less gravel behind the bird's legs making them stand out.

As they say *just chiming in*! Great photos everyone; Sean, you've got some serious skills there.

Wow, nice shots people! I only shot a few photos at a familyreunion and I will safe you all from seeying those [:P]

Sean, I love the photoshoot with the girls. The angle on the bench shot is great, I like it.

Those butterfly shots are really nice Jayson. It gets me wondering why I have a dedicated macro-lens []

Denise I like what you did with the background, but indeed if it would be smoother it would be better. How did you do this?

    Nice work everybody!

    Hi Jan -
I wish I knew how to make it smoother and get rid of the lines. I first did it in Elements and it was even worse than this so then I used Corel Paint Shop Pro X3 and got to the edges of the hawk much easier and better but till produced the lines (less noticeable than Elements did, but still there). I had Paint Shop Pro back from my P&S days, very inexpensive program that is easy to use.

Thanks, Sean! This bird was very cooperative getting his photo taken until he decided to get too close ...I think he wanted to peck at my camera awhile!
