    The possibility of the lens flopping around is why I choose to not have a head at all. I found the rigidness of the monopod by itself makes it easier to maneuver.


    Thats just me though ....go with whats comfortable

    I'm in absolute agreement with your philosophy. I don't use a head on my monopod for most of my shooting, however if someone is shooting macro, BIF, an airshow, or shooting sports from the stands, and they need the tilt feature, then I would rather see them get a tilt head than a ballhead.


    I know what you mean about the rigidity of going headless [:O], but I must say that if you ever find a need for a tilt head, then the RRS Monopod head is 100% rock solid, without any lateral flex whatsoever.
