Any type of photography is accepted, as long as there is a significant amount of fore- and background difference with the use of Depth of Field.

Does this mean that you are looking for images with shallow depth of field?

Yes that's right. It means a shallow DOF.


But it doesn't mean that you need to shoot wide open per se. If you've seen the hummingbird photo Bob submitted you might have seen that it was shot at f8 or f11, but still had a significant background/foreground difference and it played very well with DOF.


This way Emilio eliminated the fact that you needed a very fast lens per se and everyone can join now.
