Junco (snow bird) ... appropriate since it's 17 degrees and snowing !! Everything is white so I had to push the exposure way right to capture the bird correctly so the background blew out

    Good Morning Joel -

Coming from "The Birdman" himself, who's work I highly admire, I consider this a huge compliment!! Thank you! []

Denise, that is very nice of you to say, thank you so much!!

This shot is a Female Northern Cardinal, again the background is gone because it was a bright white day (snow) and to get enough exposure on the subject I had to let the background totally blow out.

    Nice shots Joel.

But tell me something is that your lucky stick, both birds are sitting on the same branch.

Is that glue under their claws?[]

    Thanks Steve,

I put up various perches, use them for awhile and then change to something else. This was the branch I used last Saturday morning and got several different birds to perch on it. (I have about 4 acres of woods so there is a never ending supply of branches falling).

I guess I should be more careful not to post too many images with the same perch but I have found, by setting things a certain way, you can predict where the birds will land and thus increase your odds of getting keeper images. The biggest challenge is that these little birds seldom stop moving even when perched.

    Joel
