I did focus in the center, and when I focused in the corner and found that it appeared to be sharp. Even though it looked square, I dont think it was. I tried another copy of the 70-200 2.8L II and it was very close to this 70-200 2.8L II. I am going to do a lot more testing this weekend and let you guys know.

Thanks for All of the ongoing help!!!

Ah- in that case, don't condemn the lens until you've tried it focusing on the exact part of the picture you plan to test.

Hey Guys, The I the better part of 5 hours and shot lots of RAWs over the weekend. I used the kitchen and set several props on the island. I used a watch, fake plants, and a few other items. I found that the it is really hard to determine if there is a real problem. I almost think there might be a back focus issue. Part of the issue I have testing is that I have to move the camera slighty when changing the lens. My tripod dips forward under the weight of the mighty 2.8 so I have to use the tripod ring.

I am thinking about buying the Spyder Lenscal.....Is there a place I can send the Lens to test it out? Maybe a 3rd party?

    Hi Chris-

It seems like you were on the right track before with your pictures of that printout you made. Can
