I like the pollen in this one, one of the few without my girlfriends finger in it flicking the tree.....

Ade those shots are great. That pollen is going to be causing havoc in my sinuses soon. Claritin to the rescue!

Here is one shot from a set. I envision taking three similar pictures in creating a set around a White room with green accents. Wife is happy with the idea.

    Canon 50D + 60mm 2.8 @ f11 1/200 ISO-100 Strobist: One 580exII @ 1/2power shot through 24" umbrella camera right.

I couldn't reflect light from the left side of the image to combat the shadow to my liking so I just cut it out in post and added a slight off white background for simplicity.

C&C if the mood strikes you.

Re: Post your best Macro shots

There a lot of great shots in this thread. So last month when I was buying a new 24-105L, I told my wife I would like to get a Macro lens some day. She told me to go ahead and get it... so I bought a 100mm L. It has done nothing but snow here so I have not had much of a chance to try it out. Well it was still snowing this week. I ended up going to an indoor garden about 80 miles away so I could try it out today. They also had a butterfly exibit also. I am real happy I bought this macro.

Here are a few shots from today (with a 7D). I hope you enjoy the viewing.

Thanks Denise. With a little practice, I hope to get a little closer to what you have done with a macro lens, but I have a ways to go.

    Conropl,

Congrats on your new lens. Sorry you had to drive so far to get a true first use out of it, but it sure seems as though your are enjoying it! Keep taking great shots and sharing them.

    Conropl,

I Love them all, but #1 and #5 are my favorites!

I would like #3 better if the wings weren't clipped, but the bokeh is very creamy and I like the edge of the leaf!

I love all of the colors in #1 and the way the butterfly is holding onto the flower.

Number 4 is nice too, with great DOF and detail on the center of the flower.

Number 5 is very sharp and nicely composed as well.

    What a Great Set!

Andy, I love the contrast and colors of the middle shot!

    Very Nicely done!
