You always seem to have a nice variety of birds visiting your habitat. For me, I usually have sparrows, doves and an occasional robin. I changed my seed to the black sunflower seed and I just put out a peanut butter suet cake in hopes of attracting a greater variety of birds. But so far ---still the same ---Any ideas?

Bob,
another thought... I know some people that use peanuts, mealworms and various types of fruit as well. I know that BlueJays love corn and peanuts. Bluebirds and many others like mealworms and orioles as well as some woodpeckers like fruit.

Not fantastic shot, but not bad considering i borrowed a mates non canon 500mm lens and the AF didnt work, it was handheld and on a boat on a dull day - so not too bad a result really

Not the best exposure, but thought it was a nice pose.

Ade; nice puffins....I haven't had the pleasure of shooting them, but later this summer my wife and I have a trip planned to Maine and the puffin is a high priority.
Yesterday was a cold and drab day, especially standing in mud and water for a few hours watching a Great Horned owl on her nest. I was hoping her eggs would have hatched by now, but no such luck and all she did was play peek-a-boo w/me.
So no pix of her, but I did have some luck w/a pair of Pileated woodpeckers, relatively rare bird in eastern Massachusetts and a tough subject to capture cleanly.
