The framing was deliberate, but there was some luck involved too. I thought I was in the perfect position, but by the time I had levelled the tripod on the uneven ground, the moon had moved and I had to find a new location a few feet away. The gull in silhouette chose the perfect moment to stand up, and I had just few seconds to catch the shot before it flew off. The colour of the moon was quite striking too, since moonrise and sunset were just a few minutes apart. Here's another without the moon touching the castle:Originally Posted by Richard Lane
Same EXIF as 2nd shot posted yesterday, but taken six minutes earlier (four minutes after sunset) from a slightly higher vantage point.
