    I guess I do mean to pry, but in a good way....Are you getting very close to the birds? Shooting with a tripod?? All of your recent photos have had great detail.[Y]

    Well, at least at this resolution. I have looked at the larger versions on flickr and they are sometimes not as sharp as the 800 px images suggest.

    Some of my images are quite soft that I have posted and you would never guess!

    Thanks! I have been doing a few things differently. I have been able to get somewhat closer to the birds now, also using the tripod more lately now that the 10 ft. ofsnow is goneand using more than just DPP for post-processing. I've been using DxO Optics Pro 6 more and learning a few things in photoshop and lightroom.

    Believe it or not, these are the same bird. Photos taken within seconds of each other ...








    I've heard of puff fish but not puff birds!
