    Great shots Joel and Adrian!

    @ Adrian.

I realy like the last Kingfisher. The tighter framing gives it more impact. And the color are just the wayI like them, SATURATED!

    @ Joel.

That is a lovely shot of a Bunting! I realy like the soft lighting and the darker colors, it really adds to the shot. Well done.

On a technical note, ISO 1000 is just a built in camera push and doesn't do as good a job as in the post.Try to useone stopincrements and adjust in the post later. And there was some thing about meta data and the whole bit that Daniel explaned but can't rember off the top of my head!

Now I just need find some time to capture those Waxwings that just arrived.

    Keep em comming!

    Jayson and adrian, great shots!

i rode my bike around the NW coast of the Netherlands
(stavoren-harlingen) over easter, and saw so many different types of
bird balanced on grass/reeds like that. only had my 15-85 though so
didn't get any shots (not riding 250km with an extra 1kg of lenses even
to get a shot like that. and we would never have made it if i'd been
    taking pics all the time).

now i'm back in australia, i'm heading to the coorong next spring to
try for some like that. something tells me i'll need to hire a 400 or
    500+ for it though...

    .

here's some of mine i took the day after i bought my 70-300L and rode
40km to the Hoek van Holland (where the canal to rotterdam hits the
sea). so many sea birds there diving for fish, could have stayed all
    day, not perfect weather though.

First one i put together from 1700*1700 pixel crops, scaled it for
here. was testing the AF speed of the 70-300L + 7D combo, 8fps, 19 point
AF and tracking priority (not all from the same spot in the frame).
only missed once when it started its final dive to the water. all were
    f/5.6, ISO100, 1/640s, 300mm.

and because i like being silly, one i took on the ride home the same day. Sharing for the pose and not the IQ.

light was fading a bit in the afternoon, ISO320, f/8, 1/400s, 300mm, 7D + 70-300L. near enough to a 100% crop, it's just showing its softness here although it shouldn't at f/8, maybe it's diffaction, i'm almost thinking i would have been better off at f6.3 and iso200. (maybe it's me but i think i could have gone a bit darker EV too).
