If the camera is levelled (preferrably on a tripod), you get the verticals straight. Any pointing up or down will result in perspective distortion (unless you have a T/S lens).
Lens distiortion is usually handled quite good by DPP or some other RAW converter. You can also compensate for perspective distortion in post processing, but it could require a lot of cropping (depending on the amount of perspective distortion).
